The story arts include all the arts: song, painting, sculpture, CGI and more. We’re always inventing new ways to express our thoughts and inspirations. We probably always will. The future arts will bring in sensations barely dreamed of today.
Stone Hare Park
The last of the day’s field mice slid down her side, grasping her fur to steady himself on the way down. The mouse playfully landed on her knee and jumped down onto her giant feet before jumping to the ground and running off to join the other children scurrying across the playground on their way home.
Once again she turned a loving eye to her old partner of so many years who, silent now, stood vigil thru the seasons. She padded up next to the old stone hare, perked up her ears, sighed deeply and settled in for a nap.
The children still come to the park and play on the stone rabbits. The older field mice children help the younger ones up onto the backs of old Harry and Harriet. The children still slide down her side and jump from knee to foot just as they had always done.
Leaves gather at their feet in the park, seasons come and go.
Occasionally a tired old mouse couple will sit in the stone crook of the hare’s feet and remember their own days of working and playing in the fields with their friends, the old stone hares.
